Hello Matty,

The hotel is nice, the grounds are beautiful. Right on the beach. The beach is Ok, it has lots of watersports activiities you can do there, however for swimming and just enjoying the water head to another beach. Coki Beach and Coral World is a walk away - very close by - and there is a good snorkeling there. Everything else you would want to get to like the Red Hook ferry to St. John, town for shopping, attractions you would need to drive to or take a taxi. The area immediately right of the resort can be a bit intimidating in appearance - as it is a residential area with stands and people hanging out. Not to bad - there are two fruit stands there - great if you want to try some local fruits. The pool at Renaissance is lovely as well, and the restaurant there - cant recall the name 🙁 was good. Dont know what the rooms are like - perhaps someone else can help with that.

I can't help with the rooms either, but there are plenty of activities- from scuba diving, day and sunset cruises, water toys, etc. I think Islander is talking about Smuggler's which has a terrific Sunday brunch. There is also a beach side restaurant called Fungi's which has good casual food and drinks. Note- it is actually part of the hotel next door, so no one at the Ren will direct you over there, but it is very obvious.
