Does anyone know what's going on with this? I read they are shut down, and we have booked one of the villas for July. However if all the amenities and beach access are no longer avail. the I need to hurry and book someplace else. I'll call the villas tomm. or thurs. but I was just wondering if anyone had any info?

Thank you in advance! 🙂

Hello Kasey,

The sign at the entrance still has a small painted on sign that says Closed. There are Closed signs painted on some of the buildings; like the former restaurant and water sport store. There is a guard at the check-in booth/entrance like there was before. The Pineapple Villas, that were/are privately owned, are still being used/rented. I assume that is where you have a reservation?

Went to the beach there not to long ago. The beach is accessible; there were about two or three dozen beach chairs on the one side. And hammocks hung from the coconut trees. The beach appears as it usually did with some sea grass on the shoreline. A little more then usual as I guess when the resort was open they had their grounds keeper rake some of it. But the beach has always had sea grass. A security guard was sitting on the porch of the former lobby that faces the beach. The swimming pool closest to the beach was closed. There is water in it but the only 'guest' I saw taking a swim was an iguana. The sign posted said that the chemicals were unbalanced. There were chairs all the way around the pool forming a barricade. There is another pool, in front of the former restaurant, but I didn't go to it. Perhaps it’s open?? You can ask the villa reps. Fungis restaurant below Point Pleasant Resort is open and can be walked to along a short path from the beach like before. There were about 8-10 people on the beach while I was there. I saw a couple walking from there to Coki Beach - where you can snorkel, get food, go to Coral World. There was a boat at the little dock on the beach and the captain was doing some things to it. The parasail boat used to come up to the little dock, not sure if that is what it was. And there was a couple doing some work on their boat on the far left side. There were about 6 or 7 cars in the parking lot where Pineapple Villas parking lot is - not sure if a few of the cars were the security guards - but it might be.

Hope that helps.
