Relay For Life 2010 takes place June 26-27 at the Charlotte Amalie High School Track on the island of St Thomas.
This signature American Cancer Society(ACS) event is in it's 8th year and proud of it.
Teams have signed up, preparations for decorating their "home" tents are underway, meals are being planned and families and friends are looking forward to this annual family event as they do each summer.
This year's theme: "Imagine a World With More Birthdays" suggests a brightly ballooned and colorfully decorated village of tents around the track with Team Representatives relaying throughout the day and night raising funds for the local chapter of ACS. Moneys raised from the event remain here in the territory and are allocated to outreach, education & this signature two-day fundraiser within the community. Any registered ACS Cancer patient may receive help for treatment, transportation, medicines, housing & care giver assistance.
We look forward to celebrating our survivors and honoring our loved ones passed during the Luminary Ceremony as the sun sets on the track and the candle-lit luminaries glow as fairy lights for our survivors' victory lap June 26.
Then Teams take the track while many games from the very young to the not so young are offered. There will be fun activities, bands, Fitness classes, contests, educational material offered, a fine dinner for survivors and care givers, gospel music & devotional offerings for all. Bring the kids, bring your family and friends. Come out and support this important event.
ONLY Team members may walk or run the track, but ALL are invited to enjoy the fellowship and fun; and remind ourselves that Less Cancer in the World Means More Birthdays in the World! Lets join in and celebrate MORE BIRTHDAYS!
