Hello- We are going on a day sail out of Red Hook (~9AM), where are the best places to look for parking in Red Hook...

Any best bets, or no-nos?

Thanks!

Do NOT park at Red Hook Plaza (the small shopping area where Duffy's is located.) You will get booted- first hand experience.

If you cannot park in the AYH garage, Menica's behind Marina Market is good.

E.E.:

Doesn't the AYH garage have a 3 hour time limit?

Is it enforced?

Another option is the ferry parking lot.....$10.00 for all day.

Well, if the day sail is out of AYH, I believe they can get a parking pass. Enforcement there is not as consistent at Red Hook Plaza.

AYH does issue passes for day parking -$12.00 a day! -- they do check the 3 hour limit frequently during the day - not as insane as Red H.Plaza but still quite likely they will tow or boot - there is very little FREE parking in Red Hook in any legitimate spots - pay the parking fees and have less worry.

Do not park in the oddly empty lot next to the ice cream shop and VI Game Fishing Club. You will be booted! If you can snag a spot in front of the old bank across the street you are fine. Try the parking lot across the street from the ferry also. Free on weekends it appears and reasonable during the week.
