Red Hook ferry to Cruz Bay reservations needed ?

Planning June trip to St Thomas and a one day tour to St John. Does the ferry from the Red Hook area to Cruz Bay require reservations? I cannot find such on their websitre.

@johnbily, the ferry to St. John does not require a reservation. Have  a great trip.

How do you purchase a ticket? Does round trip on car barge have to be used on same day?

So reservations are not needed, but can tickets be purchased in advance?

Does anyone have recent experience on how crowded the ferries from Red Hook are?
