Just myself and my wife, coming out of JFK... Have you been to the Westin before? We just bought a timeshare there, so are very anxious and are counting the days!

Yes this is our 2nd time staying at the Westin. We like it alot, restaurant prices are a bit pricey then again we usually dont eat all of our meals there, and the beach is horrible. We dont spend much time there except to sleep.

This is our first time staying there together, but we're basically the same - just sleep there and eat elsewhere and go to beaches on the North Shore... This is our 4th time on the island together, but probably my 20th or so trip to StJ...

MikeT and CocodeM--yes, I SHOULD stay an exra week so we can all meet up!! (-: This year our timeshare week is 7/7 through 7/14 but and we didn't want to miss Carnival, 'specially fireworks and parade on July 4, so we're renting a house for 5 days before the timeshare week starts.
Mike, you have the ownership week right after us. Which Westin villa buildng are you in? Feel free to email if you like.
OK, fellow imminent vistors...control yourselves for just a bit longer!!

Yea we went last year for July 4th, had a good time and the fireworks I must say were awesome. We went down to Gallows point to watch them, and it was a good view from there.

CoCo de Mer--thanks for your enthusiastic heads-up on the Carnival fireworks and and the goodviewing site! I've had visions of being packed into lively crowds, so hopefully that is a quieter viewing area??? Our three-generation family group can hardly wait!! I just read about the Carnival Children's Village on a posting here.

MikeF, hi! I 've had the timeshare(townhouse 2 bedroom) for 2 1/2 years. Building #31, condo on the end by the pool. Did you know that those villa buildings on the hillside have their own lovely swimming pools, and gas barbecue pits? They are usually quiet with a nice sense of privacy.

Bexter -

Yes - we know about the pools - looking forward to sipping on a cold one before dinner every night in it!

I am a resident of Saint Thomas and have traveled to the bath's on all the charters mentioned earlier. Everyone is very professional and no matter who you pick you will have an experience to remember. My preference however is Stormy Petral/Pirates Penny. They don't take more then a dozen passengers per boat and on one trip, I actually witnessed the captain put a guest on a float, tie a rope around his waste and tow the guest to shore because he was afraid of swimming. Oh yes. Don't forget your proof of citizenship and an extra twenty bucks for BVI customs

On a trip to St. Thomas a few years ago, my wife was still working on her snorkeling skills. We took the Stormy Petrel to the Baths. And, yes, the captain put my not so adventurous wife on a float and towed her in to shore. The captain called it the "princess tour." My wife loved it (though I was just a bit mortified). Anyways, Stormy Petrel was fantastic!
