We're cruising to St. Thomas in Dec. When in ports of call, I like to sample some of the local cuisine. Any recommendations for lunch while we are there that's fairly close to where the ship docks? Thank you!
forgot to mention looking for some place for lunch and has a casual atmosphere .
Go to Cuzzin's. It's where the locals go for true local cuisine. Try the mutton, and ask for a glass of Mabi- a drink made from a local root, but don't drink too much, it has an effect similar to alcohol!!! Green banannas, plantains, local sweet potatoes, Conch... they have it all. It's about one or two streets behind the shopping district in Charlotte Amalie where the jewelry stores are. Just ask one of the shopkeepers- they will point you the way. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy, but not cheap or dumpy.
Have fun!
Hi There,
Have to agree that Cuzzins is a great choice. Another one in the shopping area is Gladys' Cafe. Great west indian food at reasonable prices....plus her fabulous home made pepper sauce and you get Gladys singing along to the music as an extra attraction.

Don't Miss Cousins for lunch. Excellent local cousine. Located in downtown Charlotte Amalie. We've been there many times They have an excellent local soup[ can't think of the name of it]. We will be there in March 02. You'll enjoy the islands.
Try the Greenhouse. It's fun and the food is excellent. The coconut shrimp is to die for. Have a nice time.
Thanks for all the suggestions, it's going to be hard to pick just one..LOL
