We are trying to put together a trip to stay on Tortola for a few days in August. Because of flight from Boston vs. ferry schedules (St. Thomas to Tortola) it looks like the best plan is for us to get one night's lodging on St. Thomas (Wednesday, August 20), then take a ferry over the next morning. I'm hoping someone can recommend a place that isn't too expensive (no need to be on the beach, although that would be nice...) close to CA so we won't have to travel too far to reach the ferry. I'm hoping that it being "low season" there will be rooms for only one night available. Any input is welcomed!

Besides Ronnie's (which is very good) you can try the Best Western next to the airport.

I actually work at the Galleon House in downtown Charlotte Amalie (I was looking up jeep rentals when I saw your question). Hey, I'm a bit biased, but look up our website. Give me a call and I'll see what I can do for you.

I stayed at the Galleon House ten and a half years ago for ten days when I first moved here...I think it was $75/night back then....and I had a room with no bathroom, but the free breaky and the location made it just fine for me....

We still have the room with the shared bath for $75! Still have home-made breakfasts, and you'd be proud to know Marty - we even have AC now! 🙂

Then I'm changing my vote to the Galleon House!
