Just a quick note on my recent visit to SJ. My wife an I stayed at Garden By The Sea B & B and it was great. The hosts were very helpful with all the local stuff and we went to great meals. Mangos,Lime Inn. Gallows espically impress. There was a great Jazz/blues band at the boat dock on Sunday, fun fun.

Trunk bay was our perfered beach but all the beaches are good. Drove over to Coral bay, Annenberg and Cathrinburg ruins and watched the Indy 500 at Skinny Legs - what a gas.

Nice island to wind down after 10 day bare boat charter in BVI and GBTS B & B could not have been nicer.

PS - There are giant tarpon feeding on small fry at Trunk Bay as I type this, I know cause I saw....

We made reservations last December too......a week or two after we got back!!!

It's hard to wait a long 12 months and four New England seasons but the pay-off is HUGE!!!!

Lysa,

We "New Englanders" are a sorry lot. My husband & I are from MA.

We just got back on April 30th and, just like you, within 2 weeks I had contacted Estate Lindholm & we are booked to arrive on April 21, 2007.

So, you are all way - way closer to "island time" than us. We are looking at 46 weeks to go. But, we prefer to think of it as 10 1/2 months (the smaller the number - the closer it sounds). It will be quite a while until we will be counting the days!

(This will be our 3rd trip in 3 years!) Still haven't hit all of the beaches that we want to & also might do a day trip to Tortola. Have you heard of anyone who has gone there for a day? Any thoughts about whether or not it is a worthwhile trip?

tortola is nice but a day is not long enough. you can do a day trip to virgin gorda - that is well worth it.

Four times in the last 12 months???!!!

I've been down for three consecutive years. This December will be my forth in as many years and I feel spoiled.

Just like another poster mentioned, we still haven't visited all the beaches and seen all the sites. Maybe we never will finish our checklist and that will be the reason to keep returning!

This past year it was just the two of us and we were so lazy that we hit Maho twice cuz it was sooooo convenient. Ha!

We got back last May and booked a trip for November. We got home in November and booked a trip for June. It's a sickness, I tell you!

13 days and counting!

Are you the individual who stayed at villa on Gifft Hill and had a conversation with me on this forum regarding the different villas? I wanted to check and see if you saw the villa that I am renting?

CJ, If you're posting to me (Lisa in CT), I'm not the one who stayed on Gifft Hill. Sorry!

We were at Skinny Legs at approximately the same time as you...my back was to the bar so I didn't see much of the Indy 500. We were with a baby in a highchair. What a coincidence.
