Hi all.
We're returning to STJ for our second time this June. This board is incredibly valuable and all the folks so kind to provide good info. I've searched through the archives for thoughts about the villa we're staying at this summer, Paloma Blanca, but the overwhelming majority of comments are from three years ago so it's tough to know how accurate it all still is.

Has anyone stayed there recently that could give us some thoughts? Destination St John's site pictures make it look spectacular. Couple things we're wondering: While we remember the challenging roads on STJ and we know this place is a little off the beaten path (Gift Hill), is the road to get to the driveway still unpaved and if so, just how bad is that?

Noticed on a map of STJ we pulled up that Gift Hill Rd appears to continue to the North Beaches coming out at Hawksnest, but it's noted as "dirt and only for 4 WD" and I guess you also need the guts to attempt it. Is that right? Anyone traveled this stretch? Would sure beat having to go back to Cruz and then up North Shore Rd.

Is Paloma Blanca two story? Is the deck outside also? The website photos show two bedrooms but the view to the deck appears to be nearly identical so I'm not sure how that works. Is there anywhere to sit in the shade by the pool?

Any other info is appreciated as well. Thanks to all fellow STJ-lovers. Here's to returning to Paradise in 42 days!
