We've been so busy discussing all manner of thing that I almost let some really big news go unnoticed.

Cruzan Rum has just introduced a new flavor of rum, Black Cherry. I've had it in Lemonade, yummy, and someone said it is also great in Sprite. And for you purists, I bet Black Cherry Rum and Coke would take you right back to your youth.

Just one more reason to visit the St. Croix. A fine addition to our Senapol cattle and beer-drinking pigs.

And it's enjoyed by all races and cultures.

James,

Sorry, no change at Sapphire. Still not much in the way of amenities. I have been told that there are so carts and ad hoc grills that get set up to serve light fare. But, each time I've visited, those grills and carts were sitting there covered over.

We saw people sitting at the bar - but there was no bartender to be found. Pretty sad for those of us who remember Doc and the crew serving up our favorites....especially during the Sunday beach jam. Feels like the end of an era.

The beach, however, is still beautiful....and the pool is much cleaner without the ducks being drawn by the food at the pool grill. There's the bright side!

OH Blu! Numeous recent reports from Sapphire visitors on several forums have been very complimentary.

Yes, the Sunday Sapphire beach jam is not there and yes, 'tis for true that the beach restaurant is closed and yes, 'tis for true that the restaurant currently on site up on the hill is there with a new name and new owners and the jury is still out where that new venture is concerned,

STT,

All I'm saying is that there has not been a change with the lack of amenities. That's what he asked - that's what I answered. Then I gave some compliments to the joint! Right? I did good!

I have not stayed in the resort since 2004. Hopefully, THAT has improved since my horrible experience. I didn't even dredge that up. I kept quiet and let it go - emergency room vsit and all. I have released and renewed.

Let me go smell the roses - and rub them onto my glasses to get the right color coating. I'll be back. Or, better yet, I'll just have a few glasses of Cruzan and I bet all of the VI will look amazingly perfect. Send some of yours over this way, will ya?
