What kind of an answer are you looking for? When it rains here, chances are, the sun will be out in a few minutes again, so just get out of it until!

I usually move my paperback under my cooler so it doesn't get wet, wait 5 minutes, then when the sun reappears, resume reading.

If by some off chance I'm outside picking beans, I stop because your hands can transmit a nasty fungus to the wet plants.

I agree with the others....the rain there is nothing to be worried about. Many times it will rain like crazy in your front yard, but your back porch will be bone dry. Most rainshowers last only a few minutes!

Hello Andrew,

As you might gather from the responses you have received, rain showers here are usually not long and it might be raining on one side of the island and not the other so sometimes just heading to one side can get you out of the rains way. Take for example today on St. Thomas... the morning was beautiful, blue sky, puffy white clouds, hot.... and then around 2pm it poured down rain for about 45 minutes and then it stopped. So if you were visiting and you had a day like that then you could hit the beach in the am and then spend the rainy afternoon in a nice bar or restaurant having a few drinks. If its the short 10 minute rain showers you could still head to the beach... you are going to get wet anyway. If you are on St. Thomas and wanted to shop... Havensight has covered walkways so you can make due even with a little bit of rain. If you should be on island during one of our rare rain all day for a few days... you might stick it out at your hotel with a good book and say a few "rain rain go away" chants!

Have a great time! (What month are you visiting in?)

Hello, Never been to your Island, very excited, we are coming the end of November, 2004. What is your weather like then, we currently reside in LasVegas.
Thank you, Regina

I bring ziplocks to the beach for my camera, book and clothes so I can leave dry. Maybe I'll get a waterproof beach bag someday; until then, it works.
