I've been checking the forecasts for about a month now and it says it has been raining for a month straight....should I begin plans for the Ark??? I'll be in St John in about a week and I need to know...does it really rain everyday this time of year? If so..how long does it last?

Never pay attention to weather reports for the VI. I used to live there (30 yrs ago - I was a child) and now go back at least once a year (have been going back annually for 10 years).

There is normally a shower overnight sometime...or early morning. It's nice because it clears everything and gives the morning air that "after rain" clean fragrance. Thus, the weather reports call for rain everyday. It's true! You might not be awake for any of it, though.

Also, in the Caribbean, it might "sunshower" for a few minutes during the day. This is very refreshing when you are on the beach and have spent a few days in the sun (have a little burn). The sun stays out and it sprinkles for 10 minutes or so. It's nice. I like to snorkel when this is happening because I can float on my stomach, look around underwater and let the rain massage my back.

The tropical tradewinds keep cloud moving along, so rain tends not to last too long. If you wake up in the morning and it looks absolutely dreadful out, don't sulk and look for your rain poncho. Go about your day like normal and the sun will probably be in full "shine" before you know it. It's very strange to statesiders, I know.

Now, there are some cloudy/rainy days.....but they aren't typical and aren't necessarily what the weather forecast is predicting when it calls for rain.

Stop watching the weather. It's useless.

It needs to rain sometime to insure STJ has that green color we like so much and that you have enough water in the cistern to shower with. Beyond that, the weather is great.
