Hi all, doing my last minute packing and my wife brought out the rain jackets, are these needed? Plan on doing some hiking and such.
Thanks
No, you do not need rain gear. It would be way too hot to wear it and getting wet will actually feel good!
Hello Padlin,
I have owned perhaps 3 rain jackets... one required when I was in elementary school, one given to me by a neighbor when I was a teen and one I bought as an adult when I was visiting Ireland (wore it a lot there, everyday it seemed). I don't even think I have an umbrella, although I recall having one - so its somewhere around.
Just illustrating the lack of need of rain gear :).
Have a great, sunny time!

Get one of those lightweight cheapo plastic ponchos at your local drugstore that are about the size of a paperback book and if you bring it, you'll be guaranteed not to get significant rain!
Leave the raincoats in the closet next to your galoshes and snow shovel!
Seriously, when you get wet, you'll have your swimsuit and fins on anyway. I found the poncho kept getting tangled with the snorkel:)
we actually brought one of those cheezy ponchos just to cover my camera if it rained..never got caught in the rain though..
