Hi Everyone
We plan on visiting ST.John in a couple of weeks. I wanted to know how bad is the rain? I'm nervous about the rain because my husband and I went to Kauai a few years ago and it rained most of the time. They had a storm which turned the coast line brown from the run-off. We're a little traumatized from that trip. Does anyone know if the coast will still be beautiful and blue? Also, they say it rains mostly in the a.m. or evening, is this true?

I appreciate any response and honestly.
Can't wait to visit St.J.
:S B

If you read this VINow site you'll have as much information as any of us!

https://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php

We've just had a day and a half of clouds and some rain but as the sun rises this morning it looks quite nice out there. As the article says, it's uncommon to have days on end of rain. Just pack lots of sunscreen!

Here's a link to the webcam right above the ferry dock on St John with St Thomas in the background so you can peek in once in a while and see what's going on in real time:

Interesting....I'm on STT now and we experienced lots of rain Wed. and Thirs. It has been very cloudy most of the day today but only rained for a short period of time this aftermoon. Either way, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time, B! We've been over to St. John twice and really enjoyed it.

Correction--it's now pouring again. But don't be discouraged. You'll have a blast regardless!

We always travel to STT and SJ in late May, and we will be again in 10 days. (Can you tell we're in countdown mode?) 😎 We have never had a rain-out vacation in May. The occasional passing storm for a few hours maybe, but never even a whole day. A couple of storms rinses everything squeaky clean, fills the cysterns, and keeps the islands green and lush. We are spending 5 nights on STT northside at Stone Cottage, and 5 more on SJ east end at Siempre Azul. It'll be the best of both islands for us and I'm sure your VI vaction will be great too. Have a wonderful trip.

Hi Blaze
Thanks for your response! We leave in 7 days so we're counting down as well!! The last vacation we took was just about 5 years ago. I figure it will rain a bit because it's tropical, but you and everyone else are making me less anxious about the weather.
Great quote! Enjoy your time!
