Hi,
I read somewhere that in the VI it rains quite frequently, but the showers are usually quick and move on. Is this true? I just checked the 10-day forcast for St. Thomas and Sun-Wed it's saying 50-60% showers. I'd hate to think that almost our entire vacation will be full of rain. 🙁
*edited for typo
gari dont worry there will be plenty of sun. i lived there for a couple of years and the forcast is always "partly cloudy w/ a chance of rain"
I just don't want to be disappointed..after all, the entire reason for the trip is the beach/water! 😉
I saw the same kind of report before I went and was concerned. Fear not, it hardly rained at all. It was overcast from time to time, but swimming and all other activities were not affected. And the sun is STRONG, so overcast and shower isn't bad. And lastly, it was pointed out to me that weather changes so much...that a 10 day forecast is almost useless. {Think Nicolas Cage in "weatherman"}
I read somewhere that the rain usually lasts only a few minutes and then moves on. I hope that's the case. 🙂
Weather is weather and that is why they make a 'prediction'. Remember that 50% chance of showers does not mean it will rain 50% of the time. If it rains 30 seconds, they still got it right. Great job if you can get it! 🙂
Our last visit called for 30-40% chance of rain. It rained at night between 12-3AM and was hot sun through the day. The 'prediction' was spot on as rain did occur.
