I'll be in St. John next week and have been watching the extended forecast. Looks like rain everyday. How is that going to affect the snorkeling?

Depends. Rainwater and winds may increase cloudiness of the water. But you really won't know til you get here. And on an island, if one side is rough, chances are the other is calm.

When we were in STT in April, we had a day and a night of some pretty hard rain. All the bays looked muddy from the hillside runoff. Needless to say, I didn't get to snorkel on that trip. Hope this doesn't occur for you!

Even if it says rain that doesn't mean that it will
We went at the end of July last year and it rained once early in the am
I think they say rain everyday because its hurricane season

We just returned and it rained nearly every day. One day it rained at night, once it rained in the morning, once it rained over on the East end, once it rained over in Cruz Bay, once it rained on the South side...bottom line was it never rained for more than 10 minutes, never covering the whole island and certainly not enough to ruin anything.

Bring your sunscreen and use it...we are still recovering from our "rain forcast vacation" and the resulting burns.
