Everyday i look on weather.com it shows rain...has it been that wet?
I vore for Islander to make this a "sticky" topic because it comes up weekly and the answer is usually the same.
Weather.com has shown rain for the USVI everyday for YEARS 😉
It does rain everyday....usually overnight or in the wee morning hours when you are sleeping off your painkillers from the night before. By about 7am the rain usually ends and the sun comes through for a full day of bliss.
On occasion, there will be a very brief rainshower in the middle of the day. Typically, the sun doesn't even get covered so the sun stays out while this brief shower passes in a matter of minutes.
Tropical tradewinds keep clouds moving along so that no particular weather system lingers long enough to make trouble for you, normally.
When it does rain and you're on the beach, go snorkeling and enjoy the cool massage the rain gives your back.
thanks
sorry for asking a question asked do much!!
no problem. it's a good question and one everyone asks whne they're not too familiar with the Caribbean. Ignore the weather forecasts unless they call for severe weather - tropical storms, hurricanes, etc.
Uh, bluwater- where does it rain every day in the VI?
I need to move there- my plants have loved the rain the past few days, and it was dry dry dry for weeks (if not months) before the last bout of rain!
Best,
LR
Just back from a week on STJ. I'll repeat what others have said. Although the official forecast graphic and wording showed rain every single day, it actually rained a lot on just one day of seven (Fri Jun 10), and it rained for short bursts one...maybe two...other times. Two or three days were partly cloudy this past week...another couple were mostly sunny...if the day was cloudy the evening usually cleared up and gave way to a beautiful sunset..and no activities had to be curtailed for rain. Tropical weather includes chances of precipitation all the time...but do NOT take the forecasts literally. Of course, it could rain a lot...but rain will always be forecast...and much of the time it will not appear.
