Hello,
I am having about 40 guests stay at Sapphire Beach Resort in November for a wedding

Can someone tell me if there are places to eat, bar, restrooms on the beach.

Any helpful info about the resort itself would be helfpul?

Thanks,
maryc

Hi! Congrtulations!

There is only a grill between 2 of the buildings for burgers and fish sandwiches. There should also be someone taking orders for the grapevine grille which is up the hill in the Village. The restaurants and bars on the beach have been closed up,

We stay at Sapphire when we go down to STT. We rent directly from an owner, so we know what we are getting. Just the 2 of us, so there's one queen size bed, a round table with chairs to eat at, a full kitchen, pull out bed in the Living room and a patio looking right out onto the gorgeous water. We're literally on the sand.

Please keep in mind that Sapphire, right now, should not be called a resort. It's a beautiful beach, and we like our accomodations, but because of the restaurants and bars on the beach are closed I wouldn't call it a "resort".

You're close to Red Hook, so that may be an option for food, or maybe Sherri can chime in.

Good morning, and congratulations to the happy couple! Is it you, your daughter, your son, or someone else in your family getting married? Sounds like it's going to be a very special event for all who are fortunate enough to come.

The grill mentioned in the previous post also sells drinks, and I think the water sports concession at the beach sells bottled drinks, also. Many people stock up on drinks/snacks at a supermarket and pack coolers to take to the beach. You can get good deli/prepared dishes at Marina Market.

Also, several restaurants in Red Hook deliver to Sapphire, and the front desk should have a current list. I'm pretty sure the pizza place does, and there are probably a few more that do, too. It would probably be a good idea to bring at least one cell phone to the beach so you can call if necessary since most cell calls are billed just like any other call to the States.

Hi Maryc,

For meals on site, Banana Cabana (the little grill down on the beach) is good for a quick lunch - burgers, sandwiches, beer, sodas, smoothies. Grapevine Grill is a full restaurant, good for lunch or dinner. And then you are just a 1 minute drive from Red Hook, quite a few restaurant & bar/nightspot options there.

At the beach there are restrooms and there is a watersports/dive booth and they have windsurfers, kayaks and some other things. From the Sapphire Beach Marina you can rent jet skis or book parasailing. Also several day charters to St. John and the BVI leave from that Marina and some fishing charters too. So there are activities for your group to do if interested. Also there is good snorkeling at Sapphire; the watersports booth has snorkel gear for rent.

There are very limited food choices on Sapphire. IN addition to the Banana you can order from the Grape Vine up at Sapphire Village. There is also a local service right in front of Crystal Cove, that is the resort that shares Sapphire Beach with the Resort.

I would suggest that if you want to do something special go to Roberts at the Elisa or Malloy Malone's in Red Hook. You should call for reservations.

See you on the beach!

aka Robert's at the Elysian and Molly Molone's at American Yacht Harbor. You don't need reservations at Molly's as it is Irish pub and sports bar casual. But I have to agree with billd about Robert's- very nice! 😉

billd: Did you know Kevin (from Robert's) took over the Banana Cabana?
