Helllo everyone! I have been to the VI's 3 times before, and me and my boyfriend will be coming in May again. I was looking into stayin at Antilles Point Pleasant. My question is that we are younger-21 to be exact..we like to have fun but we want to be safe also! Is this a safe place to stay? And I know its reasonable and was wondering if anyone else had any thought on Point Pleasant? I usually stay on St. John and would like a change! Thanks alot! 🙂

L&C

Point Pleasant is safe.

We own a condo there and visit frequently. Each unit is individually owned and maintained. Most of us participate in the Antilles rental pool. Other owners live there full time. Point Pleasant is a gated property.

Suggestion: Request a Superior (1 Bedroom) Suite on the top of the hill.....for best views. Do try at least one of the three pools. The Agave restaurant is expensive, but good. Fungis is good for either lunch or dinner. It's also a great place to "hang out". The nature trail is also worth the hike.

Sugar Beach, on property, is very small and secluded. Just what you would expect on a deserted island...in other words very romantic.

Although Point Pleasant is built into the side of a mountain there is shuttle service at the property. Just pick up the white telephone and request a ride.

Coki Beach is within walking distance and is one of our favorites.

Each suite has a full kitchen and is a time and money saver since you can prepare your own meals. Don't miss sitting on your private balcony with your morning coffee......the view is incredible.

Have a great time.

Point Pleasant is one of my favorites! I've stayed there four times and loved it each time. It is very safe there, I've never had a problem. All the staff is very friendly, resturants are both fantastic! You should definately rent a jeep so you can explore the island.
Enjoy your vacation!

Loved Point Pleasant! Very quiet, laid back, and we felt perfectly safe.

Don't miss sitting on your private balcony with your morning coffee......the view is incredible.

Or, do like we did...get up in the morning, go out on the balcony to eat cereal for breakfast, also with a rum & coke in hand. 😉 LOL!!

FI...nope, we didn't want to waste day light sleeping...so we were up by 7 or 8, and went on the balcony to eat cereal. Since rum was so cheap, moreso than juice, that's what we had with our cereal. LOL!! We laughed about it! Nothing like honey bunches of oats with a side of rum and coke at 8am. 😉 It was fun though. I couldn't do that all of the time. I'd get fired from my job. LOL

FI...since you have a unit at PP, I have a question. When we were there, there was a nice young lady with red hair that was working the activities desk. She also worked in the gift shop. I think her husband worked down by Fungi's at the activities counter. Do you know her name? I'd been wanting to send a note to PP telling them how wonderful she was, but I don't remember her name. I think she said she also works at a dive shop at Coki.

Gari Ann:

Debbie owns the gift shop at P.P., but she's an "older" woman....married to Jake who is the Captain of the Morning Star (Sail Boat). (She does have red hair, though). Dave usually mans the activities desk, but he was bitten by a spider and spent a couple of months in the hospital. I was told in January that a young woman was hired to help with the activities desk and gift shop. She went back to school in Paris (France) just before we arrived.

Hmm..I wonder if it's the same person. This girl looked young to me..maybe late 20s or 30s. She said she and her husband honeymooned in Tortola and loved the islands so much that they moved down a few months after getting back from their honeymoon. Isn't Dave the taller guy with glasses? He was very nice, too, as was everyone we met. Anyway, there was a younger guy at the counter down by Fungi's...dirty blonde hair, kind of curly and shaggy...he unlocked the kayaks for us, and I assumed he was the husband of the girl I'm talking about.

Clear as mud! 😉 I wished I'd asked everyone's names. I hope to be back next year though. We can't make it this year. And it's killing me.

Gari Ann:

I guess we missed the person you're talking about. Dave is the "heavy set" guy at the activities desk. The other person that released the kayaks for you was probaly Sean. Sean is no longer at P.P. either.

Why not make a mini trip this year? Keep an eye out for Spirit Airline Specials....yesterday they ran an $8. each way special from Ft. Lauderdale to STT in August. I tried to book it to see if it could be done...I was successful.
