Hello,

I will be flying into St. Thomas for 8 nights in June after a few nights in Puerto Rico for my honeymoon, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good, safe, fairly cheap places to stay in St. Thomas?

We looked into the Best Western Emerald Beach, but found them kind of pricey. Best Western Carib Resort was a much better price, but we heard a lot of bad reviews about this.

We also looked into the Holiday Inn and The Green Iguana. The Green Iguana sounded fairly reasonable, but we know nothing about how safe or nice it would be, as it's not a chain or anything.

Can any of you help with any advice with any of these, or know of any other good places that we could check into for around $100 a night or less?

Thanks for your time and help! We'd appreciate it!

- Brian

Look at the website for the Crystal Palace. We've stayed there and loved it.

There ARE places to be found for $100 or less, they are just not overly popular, or heard of. But, they CAN be found. Checkout Pirate's Cove. Heard good things about them. Cheap, clean, convenient, etc. Galleon House, Bunker Hill Hotel, Crystal Palace, Miller Manor, etc.

Thanks for the information. Has anyone had any experience with Holiday Inn or Best Western Carib?

Also, how's the location around Pirate's Cove or the Green Iguana in terms of how nice it is, safe, etc.

Thanks,

Brian

Holiday INN is right on the Waterfront in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Typical Holiday Inn. BW Carib is typical BW, too, but it does have access to a great beach (Emerald). It's next door to the airport, though. If the sound of planes bother you (which they do for most...about one jet/hr), then go with something else. Pirate's Cove is in Nadir at a marina, so no beach. But i's got clean rooms, a great bar/restaurant for hanging out, close to Red Hook and a good grocery store across the street. Rent a car for the cenvenience and money savings vs. taxi.
