I am heading down to St. Thomas Oct 27th for a week staying at Elysian Beach. How is the hotel? Is it close to restaurants and bars? How is the snorkeling around that area. I am travelling by myself, are there many single people that go to St. Thomas? Where would be a good place to hang out. Let me know.

My Wife and I live next door to the Elysian (at Cowpet West), and the Elysian seems to be a good quallity place based on conversations I've had with guests at the bar. Robert's and Bonnie's on the Beach are restaurants at Elysian, and there are many restaurants on the East End where it's located. One of my favorite hangouts - Latitude 18 - just closed, but there are several in Red Hook e.g., Duffy's Love Shack.

My Wife and I purchased timeshare at the Elysian in '99 and have vacationed there every year since, in fact We will be on island from Oct 29...Nov 13. The Elysian is a very nice resort and, as Max said Bonnie's and Roberts are good resturants on the property, Red hook is close by, not sure of the cost for a taxi, but plenty of places to go, Molly Malones, Duffy's, Carribean Saloon, Poor Mans Saloon, to name a few.

My boyfriend and I will be at the Elysian 10-30 thru 11-6. I had been wondering if we should bring costumes and try to find a party at a local bar for Halloween, but seems like we saw somewhere that it was just another day.
We would love to have some contacts to get together and have a drink or something when we get there!

My Wife and I will be at the Elysian 10/30..11/13, we thought of taking costumes but decided to "go with the flow" if we heard of any parties we would put a costume together.
We are usually stop at Robert's or Bonnies for drinks, maybe we'll meet up.

Several bars usually have costume parties/contest... so definately if you want to dress up and go out you can do that.
