Are there chairs/umbrellas at Trunk and Cinnamon Bays? If so do you rent them? Would I need to purchase a Neat Sheet to take to these beaches instead? We will probably only be on STJ for a day, but we are also going to Jost for a day, and I wondered if we should take along a Neat Sheet there also. thanks for any info!

Hello again MG.

No chairs and umbrellas.

Not sure what a neat sheet is, but it sounds like an expensive version of the traditional beach blanket or beach towel. Whatever you call it, take it.

This site's beach guide lists both beaches as having chairs as amenities. I've never seen that at either beach.

Hi.

Yes you can rent chairs at Trunk. No umbrellas though...
Towels are all you really need.

Jost has chairs as well...

THanks for the info. A Neat Sheet is this microfiber thing that sand doesn't stick to and dries real fast. and its lightweight for carrying.

(I don't know how to post links...you'll have to copy and paste.)

Mountaineer Girl,

We travel to St. John every year, this year we added Jost to our travels. Spent 10 days at each location this year and brought the neat sheet and towels. I figured out this year that I'm never traveling with my neat sheet again. Although it's great to have a dry place to sit/lay it's too much of a pain to be lugging around (we have the huge one). All you really need is a towel. We spend so much time snorkeling and walking and standing around that we never really sat on the neat sheet (we packed it each day for the beach and I think it came out of the bag once or twice). Over on Jost at White Bay there are tons of chairs, some to rent and some for free. I would leave the neat sheet, pack a towel and make your travels much easier. Jill

I have to say that I didn't take my neat sheet on my last trip and really missed it. It is nice to have a sand free (almost!) towel to dry off with and the neat sheet provides a great place to sit. It is also helpful when a short shower comes passing through to keep everything dry. I will be bringing mine again and each time. Please note that we also did not have beach chairs at the villa we rented and that may have made a difference!
