Hi:
Anyone know of a small boat operator for hire who might bring 6 or 7 people from Cowpet Bay to Water Island and back in March? Don't really want to drive all over the island to catch a ferry?
Any suggestions appreciated. See you in March.
Chris
Joe is a neighbor of ours. He's very safe, knowledgeable, and skilled. I would recommend him.

That is one long wet power boat drive -- get a big one for sure and if you are over 6 passengers it must be a USCG Inspected and Certified Vessel.

My sentiments exactly. You don't have to "drive all over the island" to get from Cowpet to the Water Island ferry terminal and doing the land taxi routine is way preferable to that South side waterway which is more often than not very choppy. Not a good idea in my opinion and the cost may be prohibitive. Cheers!
I am going to drive from Secret Harbor (very close to Cowpet) to the Water Island ferry tomorrow morning, even though there are supposed to be FIVE cruise ships in! We plan to be on the 1030 ferry and return as late as we can get away with. I'll let ya know how it goes on Thursday. :@)
Very easy! We gave ourselves 45 minutes, knowing that there were 5 ships in and that we weren't 100% sure where we were going. Got to the ferry with a few minutes to spare. Small ferry, only took about 10 minutes to get there. Honeymoon was lovely. We had a nice, relaxing time. When the beach started filling up with cruise ship excursions, we hiked to Limestone and that was quite nice, too. By the time we got back to Honeymoon, most of the cruise ship folks were leaving so we got another couple of hours on the beach before returning to the ferry dock around 6 o'clock, just in time for the sunset. The snorkeling wasn't so great, but it wasn't bad, either. I think we will do Water Island again.
