Does anyone know of any private beaches where a small wedding approx 50 people can take place. I have heard a lot of the bigger beaches are really crowded.

There are no "private" beaches in the VI. All beaches are open to the public. Even resort beaches are not private.

We just returned from St. Croix. We own a condo at Coakley Bay on the East End. We know someone who rents at Coakley who will be married down there in November. He is having his wedding at the Carombola Resort and the ceremony will be on the beach there.

contact the National Park Service on St. John. You can rent a building at Gibney Beach for the day to host your wedding for $50-100 bucks. You are still having your wedding on a public beach, but the use of the facilities will be yours for the day. My friend had his wedding on that beach this past July and it was such a great time. They got married on a sailboat and swam to shore for the reception!
