I just received the following notice from Spirit. If you have a confirmed flight on Spirit you might consider going ahead online and paying for up to 2 checked bags at the $5 rate while it's still available.
Checked Baggage
Effective February 20, 2008 and beyond, our checked baggage fees are as follows: Fees for transporting the first two pieces will increase from $5 to $10 per bag if payment is made online in advance on www.spiritair.com. When paying at the airport, fees will increase from $10 to $20 per item. Items that are overweight or oversized will continue to be weighed and sized at the Airport, and fees collected at check-In.
I'm flying on Spirit for the first time next week. I understand that it is a "no-frills" flight for a cheaper rate. Thanks for the info on the luggage.
Do they offer any movies on the flights to STT?
No movies. And you pay for drinks or snacks with CC.
"Snacks and BeveragesOn each Spirit flight, Spirit Snacks are available for purchase when you have the munchies! For $2 to $4, you may purchase a variety of tasty treats.
