Hello all! I've done a search and did not find any info on Rum Dummy or Fyaway Charters on St John.

Does anyone have any experience with these day trips?

10 weeks and counting...

What kind of day trip are you wanting? I have had a hard time finding powerboating daytrips.

Well, this will be our 3rd time to St John. The first year we did a day sail with one snorkel stop. The second year we did New Horizons II to the Baths and a few other places. Both of these excursions were with 6-12 other people.

This year, as it is our first wedding anniversary, we are looking for an exclusive charter with a lot of options and flexibility to putt around St John and have fun!

The sail boats seem very expensive for an exclusive day. The websites for these 2 power boat excursions describe exactly what we are looking for. I haven't heard from either of them regarding rates yet.

A great power boat daytrip for you might be New Horizons II. There were, I think, 12 of us. We went to the Baths, Pussers for lunch, Guana Island for a snorkel then ended the day at the Soggy Dollar. It's a lot in one day but I'm glad we did it. And you sort of need to be a decent swimmer as you swim from the boat to the Baths and from the boat to the Soggy Dollar and depending on the ocean condition, it can be a bit hairy. The crew was awesome and the food was great (snacks and drinks on the boat).

Lysa,

FYI-Rum Dummy is a great boat for in-shore fishing and a real bargin at only $200 for a 1/2 day, but it's a slow boat and only holds 6 passengers:

Andrew, thank you. We're not really looking for speed as we just want to explore around St John and we don't need more than 2 seats as my hubby and I are looking for a private tour.

Between Rum Dummy and Flyaway, I do like to option of fishing on Rum Dummy but it is not a requirement.

To be honest, I've emailed both Rum Dummy and Flyaway but haven't heard from either. I'm sort of disappointed and might end up going with a shared day sail on White Wing as they responded to me right away.

Lysa: You can always rent a boat with a captain and do your own itinerary. On St Thomas Nauti Nymph, Sea and Ski, Awesome are some of the names. I know there is someone in Cruz Bay that has boats rafted up, Ocean Runner maybe??
