Hi my name is Larry ,looking to relocate to st. Croix with my wife and 2small 12.lb dogs Bert/Ernie the months were looking at are April-sept. We would like close proximity to beach .willing to spend $2,600-$3,000 per month . Is that doable for all out there. Thx

Make sure your pets can fly in cabin with you as airlines don't accept any pets in cargo when temperatures rise. This can be as early as May thru the summer months until temps come down October - November.
Check airline website for their information about flying with dogs.

Your budget is totally doable but many condos don't allow pets at all. Your best bet is to contact a local realtor as time gets closer to your move since you don't plan on moving until next year. Check this link as it may be of help with your move:

I don't know what lifestyle you are looking to change, but most married couples that I have seen that come to the Islands leave separately. Problems on magnified on an Islands and temptations can be overwhelming. Don't say I didnn't warn you.
