I recently returned from St Thomas and St John and while I love St John I was wondering about the BVI's. I love the quiet and beauty of Jost van Dyke and wondered if anyone on the board has vacationed in both places. I have done day trips to Jost and Tortola but don't really know what it would be like to spend 7 days there. I would be traveling with my wife and 2 sons, ages 9 and 11. We do most of our own cooking and are not big drinkers. We love to snorkel and hang out at the beach and usually rent our own boat for a few days. I would welcome any thoughts or advice. I need to start planning my next trip down to avoid getting depressed. Thanks

we started vacationing on st. john 10 yrs ago and continue to do so. 4 yrs ago we spent the day on jost and fell in love with this island. now for the past 3 yrs have split our time on both islands( st. john/jost)....it works well for us. on jost we stay at Sandcastles..a good choice for you with the kids would be White Bay Villas, where you have more room and kitchens..nice with the children.also the Pink House/right on white bay, just steps from the beach is a very popular villa. check this site for bvi info/has details regarding the above accomodations/boat rentals and various activities. www.bviwelcome.com , also check www.tripadvisor.com for reviews on these places. have never spent a week on Jost but if i had the time i would...it is a very relaxing place,, White Bay is beautiful, the people are friendly..to me it's so close to paradise !!!
