Hi everyone. I have been reading this board for several weeks so we learn as much as possible about STT. We will arrive July 28th for 10 days. We have rented a cottage on Water Island. I have taken notes and enjoyed all your questions and answers. I am writing down all about the beaches, shopping, groceries, where to eat, sights to see, etc. Anything else anyone can tell me will be appreciated. Our group will consist of 2 parents, 4 children(16, 12, 9, 4) and 1 grandmother(me). What can anyone tell me about Water Island that I have not read here? Details about the waterfront cottage? Sorry this is so long, but now you know me and I read this board everyday. We are very excited about this trip. Thanks for your help.

Hello Hopper,

Water Island is a small island and I think our Water Island guide pretty much covers all that there is to enjoy, see, do there (Bike Tour, Hiking, Fort, Pizza Boat, Heidi's, Pirate Ridge Deli/Bar/Store, Beaches, Ferry schedule). The waterfront cottage is on a penisula -beautiful spot. Great pool right at the tip. Alex has several children so there is a play area, your younger grandchildren will likely enjoy that. On Sundays there are usually a few dozen people on Honeymoon beach, families of different ages - so its a good day to head to the beach so your grandkids can find some friends. During the week the beaches are often lightly populated to empty. I believe Alex has kayaks - the older kids might enjoy that. Definately plan a few daytrips to St. Thomas.

Have a great time.
