anyone know of good places to grab a drink mid-day-evening in Cruz bay that have airconditioning?
not looking for food, just an ice cold beer? ( maybe a place that serves something local)
thanks

Actually, we've always preferred to be sitting outside someplace than inside with a/c. I like the place that used to be Rumbalaya (first place heading from the ferry toward the Beach Bar). Can get a nice seat under the trees and be able to see the scene at the ferry plus the harbor. And the Beach Bar is fine, too. I also get a kick out of stopping in at Mooie's for a more local experience.

If you want to get out of Cruz Bay, happy hour at the pavilion at Maho Bay Camps is real pleasant. Or sitting at Island Blues or Shipwreck. There are some rumors that Chateau Bordeaux is closed, but if not, stopping up there for a drink in the afternoon is pretty wonderful.

Yup, those are probably my favorite places, but none of the have a/c.

To answer your question,

Go to the newest bar in town called the St. John Brew Pub in Mongoose Junction. It is air-conditioned and serves draft beers. If you want food you can order it at the Ocean Grill and have them bring it up.

We're big fans of JJ's Texas Coast. Sit inside or outside, shoo the chickens and grab a beer or 3.
