I will be on Water Island during St. John's carnival ... went last year and had a blast. Only wish I had a place to stay in St. John or perhaps Red Hook so that I did not have to get all the way back to Water Island (ferry schedules etc ...) after a day of fun and rum. I have already checked out the smaller places on St. John for a room and they all require a 3 night stay over that weekend which I understand - except for the Westin which is rediculously expensive for a place to literally crash one night. Any suggestions of places that might allow me and my friend to get a room for just one night on St. John or even Red Hook?

My initial feeling is that it'll be next to impossible to find a place.

Have you tried www.stjohninn.com?
