Where is Peters Bay on STJ? The villa I rented says its on a private beach of Peters Bay but I can't find it on any online maps. I know its on the north side but I can't find any other info than that. One webite said NE side of island and another site said NW side so which is it???

Also, does it matter if you stay on the north or south side of the island, and the east or west side? What are the advantages or disadvantages of each if any?

Peter Bay shares Cinnamon Bay so to speak. Your villa is located on a very beautiful beach in the most exclusive gated area of St. John. Enjoy Peter Bay.

I'm telling you, kiddo, not only are you smart but you have the BEST taste and instincts. Peter Bay is THE place to be on St. John. We prefer the northshore view and usually stay just above Peter Bay on Cinnamon Ridge in the Catherineberg area. At night you look out on the lights of Jost Van Dyke and Tortola and the other smaller cays. At Peter Bay you are in a gated area (to keep the riffraff out don't you know). You're just a short drive to all the northshore beaches but, heck, you've got you own! You are very close the one of our favorite small beaches, Jumbie. Good snorkling and not many people.

There are lots more villas on the south side and the Westin is on the south side so our family tends to avoid this area all together preferring the northshore or Coral Bay. Coral Bay is kind of a 'funky' cool place. It's the kind of place where the hippies and Jimmy Buffet types of the 60's (and/or younger hippy wanna-bees) 'dropped out' to.

Can I come to your wedding too and stay in Peter Bay? I'll bring you a really nice wedding gift and show you around the island. Pleeeez???
