*Do you need a passport to come to the USVI? I know you need one to visit the British Virgin Islands, but what about the USVI?

Not YET. They proposed a change Jan 2006, but there was confusion about several details - so they postponed it until Jan 2007.

There was a thread a couple weeks ago about it - but you'll be better off if you HAVE one, just in case you get a hankerin' to go to the BVI.

Stacey, we called the BVI and they said a Drivers Lisence and Birth Certificate were fine this year.

Stacey, we have heard alot about New Horizons II on this board and have booked our day trip with them. There are many others as well that sound great. You can look back and find many conversations about this topic. We chose NHII because of the sites it stops at and it holds only 16 people. Check out their web site. Also, look at Blue Tang or Magic Moments if you want a more private trip. These looked very nice.

Stacey - Bill is absolutely RIGHT!!

New Horizons II is a fabulous "1st time" BVI experience. You get enough time on each island stop, and still get to experience a full day of multiple sites. We've done the trip twice in the last 3 years, and have enjoyed it tremendously.

Great luck to you - have a fabulous time!

VI Lover, have you done a sunset cruise? I am looking for recommendations for one that is cocktails - no dinner required. Just a couple of hours at sunset to see the islands from the water. Any thoughts are appreciated. We are only 7 days from what sounds like paradise! (our first time to the caribbean)

No, sorry. We have not done the sunset cruise - just the daytrip though BVI.

We sailed on White Wing with Captain Clark last June and it was great. He is a great host and has a number of trips to choose from. Check him out at: http://www.connectionsstjohn.com/Whitewing.htm
