Edwin O. Dawson

Services will be held Monday for Edwin O. “Sheik” Dawson, who died on Aug. 16, 2010.

The first viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, with services following at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Eastern Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his son, Tyrone Dawson.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Dawson; sisters, Dorris Dawson Johnson and Joyce Dawson; cousin, Diane D. George; daughters, Willa-Mae Dawson, Denise Dawson, Moretta Fahie, Laurel Dawson, Jennifer Dawson, Dawn Dawson-Freeman, Donna King, Dia Dawson-Ottley and Diria Dawson; sons, Darryl Dawson, Elwyn Dawson and Desiré Dawson; stepchildren, Delano Blyden Sr., Dwane Rogers, Digna Rogers and Keith Foy; 38 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; close friends, Ralph Thomas, Jerome Lake, Eddy Freeman and C.D. Freeman.

Arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home
