We are coming to ST mid-May and want ot know what the parking situation is at Red Hook where you catch where you catch the ferry. I had read that they were building a parking deck (or something) and that parking was a REAL problem. Anybody know anything about this.

THANKS!!!

A word of advice. You need to get back to the car ferry early on STJ because it gets VERY CROWDED trying to catch the last ferry for the day (which really cuts your day short). You might be surprised at how easy it is to coordinate nine people. The big cabs (that hold nine) are always right by where the people ferry arrives and take you directly to the beach and back to the ferry. Sometimes it takes a while just to get out of Cruz Bay because of the traffic. So we just enjoy our vacation and sit back and let someone else deal with the traffic and driving while we enjoy the view in an open air cab. Also, you can stay at the beach much longer because you dont' have to hurry back to catch the last car ferry.

Just a suggestion.
