I will be vacationing mid January and my travel companion would like to parasail. Is there anyone offering this activity to novices on St Thomas or any other eastern Caribbean island? Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on any activity similar to this that they may have done? thanks.
I' m finding any sort of a google search on parasailing on STT most odd in that several cruise ship and visitor sites indicate that parasailing is available "at most resorts" but there seem to be no direct links to parasail operation websites.
Over many years I've seen them come and go like the Christmas winds but, again, it does seem a little odd that an established parasaiing business here doesn't have some sort of a website.
Parasailing isn't something you have to get a certificate to indulge in. Novices get exactly the same trip as those who've done it before. You get securely strapped in, the boat takes off, you're released aft and soar up to fly free. After your "tour" is over you're gently dropped into the Caribbean and quickly picked up.
Not sure what to tell you except to do the same google that I did and go through a hotel concierge for more details. Seems like $85 for pricing is the norm. Cheers!

This is a new business on STX. I think they're having their 'soft' opening today.

On St. Thomas, I think there is only one company offering parasailing: Caribbean Watersports (340) 775-9360. They pick up at several beaches, mostly resort beaches where the resort watersports booth usually can book you for parasailing or you can arrange it directly with the company.

On STT we have gone up with "Caribbean Parasail" a couple of times. They are based out of Sapphire Resort Marina. They frequently hang out off shore in front of Sapphire Beach and sometimes have a person walking the Beach with a sign. You can also find them in the Marina on the Right looking out to sea near the Head end of the bulkhead. ( Closer to the Blue topped Sapphire Village buildings) That's the way it was in Feb 08.
go to sapphire resort. They may have a web page also that links you to the parasailing
