Does anyone know how long a cab ride it is from the Paradise Point Tramway to the Crown Bay Dock? We'll be in St. Thomas on a cruise ship and it looks like we're probably docking at Crown Bay. Is there rush hour traffic in Charlotte Amalie? If we leave the Paradise Point Tram at 4:30, would we be hitting a lot of traffic? Thanks.
Wouldn' t worry about a cab ride as you can walk from the cruise ship to the Tramway, which is literally across the street and up about a block....10 minutes or so, no problem, you'll have plenty of time 'mon to catch de boat afore it ships out of de dock! Enjoy the view!
While the tram is across the street from Havensight as tatonka notes, Crown Bay is a bit further. Yes, there is a traffic jam in that area, fortunately, it is mostly going against your direction (i.e. it is going toward Havensight and you'll be going away). You might want to make arrangements with a taxi driver earlier in the day. They know how to judge the time needed to get back. Also be careful to tell the taxi that you are going to Crown Bay!
Ah yes, Crown Bay vs WICCO...........hmmmmm good point, sorry to have misdirected.
Hello Patricia,
What time do you have to be back to the ship??
Paradise Point tramway starting point to Crown Bay is about a 15 minute drive with limited, free moving traffic... so if you have to be on the boat at 5pm and leave at 4:30 yes you should make it with a couple minutes to spare.
Make sure you arrange for a taxi to meet you or that you leave some time to walk over to Havensight area where the taxis are and get one.

Thanks, everyone, for the information. Our ship doesn't leave until 6:00 so we'll need to be back onboard by 5:30. I think we'll walk over to Havensight and get a taxi there. I'm assuming there will be taxis at Havensight, even though the ships docked at WICO will be getting ready to leave. Is that correct?
Patricia,
Around 4:30, 5pm yes there should be taxis in havensight.
