On Paradise Points website they have a winter schedule that lasts up until May 5th. The Thursday night ride, dine and jazz is only posted on their summer schedule. I will be there next week and I was wondering if they were going to do the jazz and dinner thing then or does it not start up until May 5th?

Yep, it's already in full-swing! You need to take the tram up vs. drive, but it's going very well. Good food, good tunes...and a great view!

Say "Hi, from Marty" to Sean and Nicole (or Asia, if she's there) at the Pirate's Chest for a 15% discount. He's got some cool stuff in there!

Hello Pete,

The $43 is the price Paradise Point charges for the ride/dinner/music on Thursday nights.

Pirate's Chest is a privately operated store located at Paradise Point that sells souvenirs and things. Marty's suggestion is for this store.

Incidentally for those that buy the Paradise Point Pass it includes a discount at Pirate's Chest, among other discounts.

Details on Paradise Point Pass:
The yearly Paradise Point Pass (PPP) allows persons to ride the Skyride anytime during the year (day or night). The PPP is available to both visitors and residents. The price is $19.95. There are no black out dates. Pass holders receive a plastic card with their photo on it. Other benefits of the pass (PPP) are:

-pass holder can bring 2 off island guests at the local rate anytime (only for VI residents, to receive discount for guests, pass holder must show VI id)

-pass holder receives special 2 for 1 pricing on Coors Light and Paradise rum punch anytime during the day or night

-pass holder receives $1.00 off Bushwackers and other machine frozen drinks anytime during the day or night

-pass holder receives 10% discount on merchandise from Pirates Chest boutiqueat Paradise Point

Pass holders can use their pass to ride up for the Jazz nights and dinner nights and then can order off the menu and pay for whatever they order.

Sorry, the discount is only for his store. Sean owns "The Pirate's Chest" up at Paradise Point. If you say that you know me (he's one of my best friend's), he will give 15% off of anything he sells in his store. He's got souvenirs (voted "Best of the VI"), tropical clothing and hats, hot sauces and spices, rum balls (yummy!), jewelry. And he's got the best selection of pirate booty. Coins, bottles, muskets, plates, Cannon balls, musket balls, bottles...all kinds of stuff that has been found on the ocean floor.

But his passion is the selection of coins. Everything from $30 up to $6,000. All with certificates of authenticity. As an example, the coin I wear around my neck is from the wreck of the Princess Louisa, which sank off of Cape May (in the Verde Islands) back in 1743. It was minted in Potisi, Peru, in 1717. The wreck of the Princess Louisa was discovered in '98 and over the next 2 years they brought up a bunch of stuff. The ship "Princess Louisa" was named after her when she was 8 years old. She later became the Queen of Denmark, and we bought these islands from the Danes back in 1917, so it has a little local history to it. He's got alot of coins and things for sale in his store that he has found himself, too. He's also an underwater treasure hunter. Check it out. Great store.

Hello Ryan,

They don't offer their full menu on Wednesday nights. There is a bar food menu though.

Hi Pete,

What is the website for Paradise Point. I tried typing it into Yahoo and tried all the different links provided but none panned out.

Thanks!

We plan on going Wed. night for the sunset party. What type of bar food will they offer? Since it's between 5-9, we'll be hungry for dinner.

Islander,

Just a bit confused about the PPP...

**pass holder can bring 2 off island guests at the local rate anytime (only for VI residents, to receive discount for guests, pass holder must show VI id)**???

1. What is the "Local" rate?
2. As visitor's for two weeks would each of us need to buy a PPP or can we buy one and be intitled to the "local" rate for both people?

Thanks

The 'local rate' is $5 p/p. In order to get the local rate, you need to show proof of residency.

The cost to purchase a pass is the same for everyone. And each person needs a pass, unless he/she is a resident of the VI. In that instance, the local can bring 2 guests at the local rate. As visitors for 2 weeks, it would be best for each of you to purchase a yearly pass at $19.95/each. The regular rate is, I think, up to $15 r/t now. For an extra $5 you each get to go up for the next year as many times as you would like.

Wouldn't it be lovely if the resident rate applied to timeshare owners with deeds.........

Good afternoon all,

Found this website a few weeks ago and its my new internet addiction! 🙂

My wife and I were last on STT 3-4 years ago (waaayyyy to long ago) and we hung out a the Paradise Point complex one day. We rode the tram in the afternoon and then went back by car during the evening to watch the sunset with a fru-fru drink.

We hung around Pirates Chest and spoke with one of the owners. Marty mentioned the name Sean, that sounds familiar but I could be wrong. It was fun, we discussed treasure hunting because at the time a friend and I were going to explore a lake in the Hayward, WI area rumored to have some old slot machines thrown in the bay by Al Capone. Sean(?) was showing my wife and I the coins/jewelry said he had heard about the slot machines and we spoke about their treasure hunting. A very nice guy.

Enjoy your trip.

Matt
