Has anyone stayed at these condos. They look great on the web site, but I've not heard anything about them. Still looking for a place for an all gal trip. We will be arriving on different flights and maybe even different days, so I want something easy to get to.

Thanks

My family always stay there - they love it. There has been 2 couples with 4 kids (23, 21, 17 and 17) and they have the 4 bedroom and it's perfect for when the "kids" close Woody's and the Quiet Mon - fairly easy "stagger" back for them but it is approx 10 mins to "town" and there is a good hill to climb (easy for some, not so for others just depends on your comfort level)

The units are beautiful - they stayed there 4 times last year !!! and the last time was over Thanksgiving and they rented 4 units as there was 16 of them (4 different groups of friends)

Let me know if you need any more info

Pia

We stayed at Palm Terrace last spring break. We had a HUMONGOUS 3 bedroom unit. My husband and I had the master and our twin girls had the second room, along with their friend. I think their room was even larger than ours!!! It was big enought for 2 full size beds AND a BIG air mattress. Honestly...you really coul d sleep 6 kids in that room! Had its own bath. We did not even use the 3rd bedroom and bath. It was a very spacious unit, with beautiful baths and beautiful kitchen. It was decorated like a model home ( translation...not real comfy and cozy, but it looked really nice!)
The porch was large and also had a nice balcony/porch off of the master. the complex shares a pool with the other 5 units.
the unfortunate thing was that we had these 3 gorgeous bathrooms ( we thought that we would need 3 baths with 3 teenage girls!!!!!) but the water pressure was so low, that we could only take one shower at a time!!! the kitchen was so new, that it looked like we were the first to cook in it. therefore, the kitchen was not very well equipped. the appliances were top notch, but very little to cook with! I barely managed to set the table for 5 ,let alone have guests or a little cocktail party. Pots and pans were minimal. Well...it did have a blender, the most important appliance!! I did let the realtor know about all the little things, so hopefully they brought in more things.
We woulkd definitely stay there again. I think Palm Terrace is the biggest bang for the buck. It was soooo nice to be able to walk into town. Esp for the girls...when we came back form the beaches, or they didnt want to do the pool, they were able to walk into town to shop or get a smoothie from the "Smoothie Guy" across from the post office.
If you are a sea glass collector, Frank Beach is right down at the bottom of the hill and is loaded with sea glass or "St. John Emeralds". Also, Coconut Coast Studios is right down at the end of the street.
The 2 and 3 bedroom units were not available this year during our spring break, so we are staying at Lavender HIll.
oh...btw...don't forget your ear plugs...that dang-gone neighborhood rooster wakes up at the darndest times!!!!!

Thanks Suzi and Pia for the info. We are looking at a 3 bedroom and I'm glad to hear they are as spacious as they look in the photos. I have stayed at Gallows Point a couple of times. How much further and how steep a hill is Palm Terrace from GP? I was also wondering about the views. I know they are not on the water, but are the views still awesome or just so so? I'll ask about the kitchen equipment. Thanks for letting me know that. I'm not sure what can be done about water pressure. That seems to be a universal problem on STJ. Which beach is Frank beach? Where is it in relation to GP?

to get to Palm Terrace, you go up the hill to Gallows, past Gallows and go straight down a very steep hill. At the bottom of the hill is Frank Bay. thats where Coconut Coast Studio is. ( not to be confused with Coconut Coast Condos) Make a left at the bottom of the hill and go up a nother gradual sloped hill and Palm Terrace is on your right. The view is not tremendous, which I believe is reflected in their prices. But the view is decent. You can see over to the right is STT, and can see some of the sunset if you lean out . You get a good view of the car ferries coming and going. You also look out over a salt pond.
If you have any problems or need something Destination St John will come to your assistance quickly. JUST CALL AND ASK!!
I was not in the least complaining about the water pressure...to me that is one of the funny and lovable things about STJ. Water pressure, regular power outages, ROOSTERS!!! donkeys in the road, tree frogs, etc etc. You can add to the list. some people might make a face and wonder why the hell we go there! Maybe all those things that I love will keep some people away!!!

I've stayed in the 4 BR Unit. I liked the location and the quality of the furnishings, with the exception of the bed. I didn't like the tall bed as it is at least 4 or 5 feet off the floor. I had to climb like I was on a ladder to get up on it.

There is little view if you aren't in the BR that faces the water or in the living room looking out. None of the other BR's have a view at all.

The cistern for that building is located below the living room floor of the 4BR and maintenance had to come in and check it while we were there. Even then, the water pressure was very lacking and almost a trickle at times. If you didn't get in the shower first, you had warm and/or cold water.

While I will probably stay there again, I will most likely stay in another unit.

Thanks for the info, guys. Now I'm getting the picture as to why the place looks so great for the price. Sounds like the view is nothing like Gallows Point or most other villas that I've stayed in. But it still seems like a pretty good place for a group of unescorted ladies who like a nice place. The water pressure is a concern but I guess there is nothing to do about that.
