Hello,

This is my first post to your site but I've been reading it for weeks now. My family is visiting STJ in a little over a week - Aug.13-20. We'll be staying in the villa Palladio's view. I've been reading some slightly negative comments about Great Caribbean Getaways Company and I was wondering if anyone had any info about this villa.

We stayed at the Maho camps 17 years ago with our two small children and are now all returning. Children are now 25 and 22.

I haven't been able to go to a beach since leaving STJ. Too crowded over here. I can't waqit to get back.

I'd also appreciate any info on renting a dinghy.

Thanks.

Mary

Hello Mary-

Wow, you haven't been to a beach in 17 years? What a treat for you to return to the beach on STJ! This IS a very special trip for you. I'm excited for you.

I don't have any info on that villa. I have heard negatives about GCG, but all from one party, so I will be interested to hear your experience and get a broader view of their service. Please remember to post your findings when you return. I'm sure we're all very curious.

Re: dinghys on STJ - everyone recommends Noah's Little Arks. I think they have a website and various pricing models depending on how long you rent and what size dinghy. I know you can access their rentals via bookitvi.com

I wish you the most amazing vacation.

Bluwater,

Thank you for your advice. I'll call Noah's and reserve a dinghy(or two) before I leave.

I can't wait to get there. Of course, the last time we went, it was practically deserted. There was nothing on the other side of the island(coral bay, east end, etc.) The island sounds a lot more touristy and crowded now. I hope we can find a few secluded spots.

I'll let you know about the villa and GCG when we return. Only 8 more days to go!!
