We had an incredible vacation to St. Thomas! I just thought I'd give a brief summary of it just in case others were wanting to know a tourist’s point of view.

We stayed at Bolongo Bay Beach Club. It was nice that we didn't have to spend much money, and we got a hotel room right on the beach. Our rooms were decent. They were very clean, we had a terrific view, we had all the amenities we needed, but the beds were a little too hard for our likings. In the future, we'll probably try to stay on Sapphire Beach (we liked that beach better) or on St. John.

The beaches we hit were Sapphire, Coki Point, Magens, Honeymoon, and Trunk Bay. Sapphire seemed to be a good all around beach. The snorkeling was decent, there was "stuff" there, and it wasn't too crowded. Coki Point had fantastic snorkeling. The rock formations were incredible to see as well. However, it was really run down, and while I don't mind if people partake in certain activities, it seemed like marijuana was all over that beach. The peacefulness of it was ruined by some of that. It's a shame because it's so beautiful otherwise. Magens was nice. We got there early in the morning, and I'm glad we did so because it got really crowded. Are there two Honeymoon beaches? Is there one on Water Island and St. John? We went to two different Honeymoon beaches, I think! The Honeymoon Beach in Caneel Bay is stunning. There isn't much "stuff" there, which is nice. We saw all sorts of marine life....eels, turtles, sting rays and a variety of fish. The Honeymoon Beach on Water Island didn't have much of anything exciting.

I highly recommend the New Horizons daysail. We did that our last full day, and we had a fantastic time! They took us to this little part by Labogo (that might not be spelled correctly) where the coral formations were amazing. The fan coral was huge!!! It was very relaxing to just sit on a boat and look at the amazing scenery. They took really good care of everyone with drinks and food and whatever else. Capt. Mike and Abigail were also two great people. They were friendly and personable. Capt. Mike made jokes here and there without trying to be "the funny guy." After we got off the boat, we almost signed ourselves up for the sunset cruise, but we were a little too exhausted.

I also recommend the Kon Tiki Party boat if you want a good booze cruise!!! We had way too much fun! If the rum punch is too weak, you can always add an extra shot of 151! The captain rocked (he let me "steer" the boat!) The steel drum band was fun, too. I think there was some dancing and limboing to their music. Everybody on the cruise was open and friendly (that may have had something to do with the rum punch). It was basically one big fun party on the ocean. It went from 1-4, and we were in bed by 7!

I strongly recommend against the Tropic Tours day on St. John. For the money we spent, we could've done the same exact tour but at our own pace. They were rushed, and we did not get enough time on Trunk Bay. We were rushed leaving there, and I must've dropped my camera on the beach, and we ended up missing our taxi back to the ferry (we were about 3 minutes late, and they left.) They showed us some neat stuff, but it wasn't worth the chaos at the beginning of the day, and it really wasn't worth stopping for refreshments for 30 mins 1 hour into our tour (I'm pretty sure that they owned the store.) When I signed up for the tour, I thought it was going to be a small group that our hotel was taking.

Thanks to everyone here who helped me plan out my trip! I can't wait to go back!

Hello Valerie,

Yes there is a Honeymoon beach on St. John and another on Water Island. The Kon Tiki usually stops at the Honeymoon Beach on Water Island for a few hours. Did you eat at any restaurants? Any opinions there? Thank you for the review.

Okay, that makes sense. We didn't really like that beach too much. The other Honeymoon Beach was very nice, though.

The only real restaurant we ate at was Iggie's at our hotel. The food and drinks were great. The drinks were pretty expensive, though, considering how cheap rum is to buy there. We also really enjoyed the entertainment and food that they have on Wed nights for their (oh...I forgot the name of it...sorry) Caribbean show thing. The food was so good!

Also, I really enjoyed the Blackbeards Ale! Good beer!
