American changed our flight times so we will not get to Red Hook before the last car ferry. Is overnight parking available and safe? Would the car rental agency in STT have any issue if we left the car at the dock and came back for it in the morning?

Thanks!

You shouldn't have any problem parking in the ferry terminal lot - it's well lit and I believe the attendants are there until the wee hours of the morning as the lot is also used by patrons of the nearby restaurants and bars.

Ferry parking lot is best bet like STT Resident suggested. Other parking areas in Red Hook are for customers of the offices/stores/restaurants. There have been a few recent cases where folks pulled into the VI Game Fishing Club's parking spots for example and got booted. Likewise this happens in the Red Hook shopping center parking lot.

The ferry parking lot is just in front of the Red Hook ferry terminal. You take a ticket when entering the parking lot from a machine; and pay when you exit/attendant is at the exit. Can't say I've ever noticed whether they have no-over-night parking signs, its likely park at your own risk for over-night. It is well-lit and there are usually a few cars in it at late hours of the night.

As for the car-rental agency having issue with parking overnight; doubt this is an issue but do ask them if they allow their cars over to St. John if you haven't already - most do but there are a couple that do not.
