Morningstar Beach: Very wavy on 1st day (probably due to Hurricane Adrian). After that, it was calm, clear, and nice.
Dining: We had a $300 credit because we stayed 5 nights. Boy did we need it! Food was pretty good but quite pricy. Burgers $13, Main Dishes at Windows/Havana Blue $28-$40. We were able to stretch the $300 credit through 5 days by having large breakfast buffett at Windows, skipping lunch, and then having dinner. Also ate out a couple of days during our excursions.
Room: Beachfront room at Morningstar. Pretty nice. Good view. More than enough space for 2. Housekeeper would leave small treat every night.
Excursions: Everyone recommended Trunk Bay over Magens, so we took a day trip to St John. Stunning beach. Crystal clear water. Great views with mountains. Beginner snorkeling trail. Only down side was a bit inconvenient to get there. 2 taxis and a ferry to get there.
Day trip to Charlotte for mandatory jewelry shopping. We think we got some pretty good deals (but doesn't everyone say that...) Didn't haggle as hard as we could have. But definitely don't bite on their 1st "lowest price we can do" routine. Ate at Gladys Cafe for breakfast (overrated in our opinion). Other than jewelery, everything seems to have a 30-40% markup from prices in the States. I understand making a profit, but seeing things like $10 for a hairbrush is ridiculous.
