Never been to St John but curious about "Open Container"... If we are driving with a beer do the Police "look the other way"...I relize this is a the US Virgin Island but wasn't sure if allowed to have open container like other islands ....
I hold my husband's beer till he's ready for a sip. Works for us.

You will receive no lecture from me. I'm in the same camp as you and Doug. I think as long as folks abide by the local laws they will not pose a threat or problem to anyone else. It does not sound to me that you plan on breaking any laws with your "tradition". 🙂

Doug - what was the long and short of your intial question? Nobody wants to see anyone behind the wheel with to many beers in them - but open container? OK? Not OK?
As I said on the relocation forum. There are no open container laws but do not drive drunk, period. I an not condoning driving drunk.

I feel it is fine to drink with a cocktail......no more than 12 for me (joke) honestly the hill'and roads are crazy on St John (small island with a lot of elevation change)... I would say be very careful esp after a rain.. just be smart and safe....
