After all the plans for our upcoming trip to STX it's finally becoming a reality. I am so excited to get away from all this cold and dreary weather. It's 35 this morning. I have read all the posts in the past but now I'm more serious about what everyone has to say and would love to hear suggestions for places to eat in STX. We have rented a condo at Cruzan Princess so will have cooking facilities for breakfasts............which usually consists of coffee and cereal.

I believe Cruzan Princess is near Hibiscus Beach Resort. They have a nice cafe, as does Cormorant Beach Club, which is also nearby.

Head west ( a pretty long way, get a map) along the northshore road and you'll find Off the Wall and the Cane Bay Beach Bar. Both must sees.

We also like to eat downtown on the Boardwalk. And finally Turtles Deli in Fredriksted.

There are MANY good restaurants and I've only hit on a few. There are several north of F'sted that are beautiful. And the BEACHES ... don't get me started.

You'll have a great time. When it gets closer, send me an e-mail, we'll meet for a drink!

Hi, Sharon,
Besides trying Hibiscus there is a take-out department at Plaza Extra across from St. Joseph's High School on Centerline (Queen Mary Highway) Road. They serve generous portions and it is good. K-Mart in Frederiksted has a cafeteria featuring island dishes like rice and peas, fungi.

Enjoy, PT

Hello Sharon,

Be sure to visit some of St. Croix's historical sites; the two forts, the Whim, Botanical Gardens.. you could also go to the Rum Factory for a tour and tasting - its fun as well. If you like to hike or horseback - these are great options. Lots of beach time. If you want to snorkel you can do a charter to Buck Island. What types of activities interest you?

Thanks for all the suggestions. My husband and I are easily amused so I know we'll have a great time. My husband has already set up a time to meet with a real estate person (he is ready to move and I always am the practical one and say we can't move until we retire.) Of course, I should just go with the flow and say let's do it. I'm sure it will be a great two weeks.

Sharon,

Be sure to let us know how your stay at the Cruzan Princess was. You don't read much about it on here. My wife and I will be on STX starting 4/15 for 3 weeks. Let us know if anyone is getting together during that time. We're staying at Coakley Bay and looking forward to every minute.

Kerry and Paula
