Karen and I are coming to STT on Sat. for our anniversary. Can't wait!!

We are going to have a rental car. I took out a second mortgage so we will be able to afford the gas. . . I have been looking for a detailed road map of the island, but have been unsuccessful so far. Are there parking lots in CA? We have used cabs in the past and never took note of where to park. The traffic always seemed horrific and people seemed to park pretty much wherever they wanted to.

We are staying at Bluebeard's Beach (not exactly sure where it is located on the island - again the map thing). Is there a grocery nearby?

Also, if anyone knows Andrew Douglas and sees him, tell him his friends from Delaware are coming back.

Thanks.

seaweed,
Welcome back! You won't be sorry for renting a vehicle! Your car rental company will more than likely provide you with a good STT map! If not, be sure to ask for one before you leave the airport!
There is a paid parking lot in town, tho even at that, can sometimes be difficult to get a parking spot in it! Be sure not to park on the waterfront itself!
Bluebeard's Beach Club is located off the main road, RT 30, pass Havensight, on your right hand side! There is a big sign, you can't miss it!
Your closest grocery is Pueblo, just before Havensight, to your left, on RT 313! Also, there is a Gourmet Gallery Grocery store located IN Havensight Shopping area on the right! All of this is directed as if you are coming from the airport!
Glad you took that second mortgage out to pay for the gas! 🙂 (Actually, I have noticed that the gap in gas prices between the states and here are starting to close)!
Have a WONDERFUL time!!!!!

We grab a spot in front of the Holiday Inn when we are in downtown CA.

Cheers, RickG

RickG: Is it safe/legal to park in front of the Holiday Inn overnight if going to another island? How early do you need to arrive to get a spot?

Seaweed: My wife and I are arriving Saturday also. I am not sure how to make these next few days go by. This is going to be a very very long week.

Anybody: How much is gas over there now for regular unleaded? Should I pack some in a cooler to bring? 😉 We are paying 4.19 - 4.49 here in Illinois, well that was yesterday - who knows today.

Have a great trip Seaweed!

$4.19 is gone! now 4.47 a gallon. I see our gap is closing as compared to some places in the states!

I can tell you the gap is very small if there is any when it comes to the chicago area. In the city its about the same as you, in the suburbs, about 20 cents less.
