I posted this question several weeks ago, but I thought I might try again to find someone who has stayed at villa Argonauta in the last year or so (since it has been redone). I've read nothing but good things from old reviews, but would enjoy a little more info if there is any out there.

HI Deb-

I thought you were all settled. Have you yet paid your deposit?

Not familiar here, but I have stayed in villas in this area -Estate Contant. I like the area because it's close to Cruz Bay and looks out on to STT, which puts on a show at night to anyone in this villa's pool at night or just looking out of the bedroom window at night. One thing - as I was looking at this villa on a couple of websites, I noticed that one of the bedrooms looked very different on two separate websites - has twin beds on one and a king on another. Is that king really two twins? If so, comfort could be compromised there.

The rate seems fair for those bedroom views - this one looks like it's truly built in villa style - all bedrooms facing front and each having a prime view.

I thought I spotted some plastic patio furniture, but only in 1 pic - the main pool furniture seems nice - not exceptional (as in Balinese daybeds and such), but nice.

Ask the agent for references from the last two renters, with whom you can speak directly.

Actually, we have booked it. I am just looking for a little reassurance. I know the views are killer. The house looks nice without being luxurious. The pictures with the king bed are most recent, but it still might be two twins. We are traveling with 3 teenagers, so I am not to concerned about their young backs. The deck furniture does look plastic in one photo, but that does not seem to be a big deal. I know the pool is small, but I like the idea of having full ac. I also like the hot tub feature.

As I said, we looked at several properties that were much more luxurious, but they did not have full ac, or the best views. So I guess I'm happy with our choice, I'm just looking for reviews from others that have seen it.

Oh, one other important feature is close proximity to Cruz Bay for the teen girls who love to shop and check the bars for any Kenny Chesney sightings.

Great idea about asking the agent for references. I did not realize they would do that.
