So the wife has nixed the dinghy rental and wants to do a day sail; however, checking the providers listed here on vinow.com leaves us with sticker shock.

I don't begrudge anyone making a living, but - well... damn.

So - who has the deals on the daysails in the off-off season?

Frankly it will be less about deals and more about who is still here and running trips. Allot of sailors pull their boats out for Hurricane season or leave the hurricane zone altogether. If you want to book I would start making some calls to see who is available.

It is really tough to get enough folks for a day sail in Sept unless you want to do the whole boat. That is not to say it will not happen, but hard. If you try to do it now many will say yea Tuesday no problem and then Monday night call and say we did not get enough to fill the boat.

A possible day trip may be the ferry on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday to Jost VD.

Definitely white sand and blue water with the opprotunity to suck down a few cocktails..

Life is good (tu)

I didn't even think about it being hurricane season! But your advice, she is good! I have emailed a few operators to see what's going on with them, and we'll take it from there.

I know the Coupon St John book has some deals on boat trips. Might be worth it to check it out. (You should probably have one anyway -- it has 2 for 1 drink coupons!)

I ran across the following when planning my trip in December 07.

I cannot recommend for or against the Spree as no one ever replied to my e-mail. I realize now that I should have phoned instead. $50 for a daysail was by far the lowest price I found. One of those "sounds too good to be true" deals. Maybe someone here can provide feedback.
