Is it ok to take a cooler of beer on the ferry to St John? how about any of the BVI?

I imagine it's okay to take a cooler with beer to STJ as they don't look in it nor do you have to go thru Customs as long as you're not drinking it on the ferry. BVI may be different since you may have to pay duty on the beer you bring in so keep your receipt.

I believe some if not all the national park beaches in St. John prohibit glass bottles and they will fine you if they catch you.

STj no problem. Lots of people who live on st John, shop on st thomas.
BVI never had a problem. Assuming you are packing for a day visit and not "importing bulk items", I doubt BVI customs will even question you. If on the VERY off chance BVI customs decides that you are the one person they'll hassle this month, beer is sold close to the docks on Tortala & VG. ICE COLD Beer is for sale on the beach at white bay (JVD).
